This page presents key metrics from the Autonomous Systems database. These metrics are derived from available data, which may vary depending on perspectives and sensor measurements of BGP data flow, including ASN relationships (peering) and IP prefix announcements. The database is concise, continuously updated, and sourced from reliable channels..
These statistics offer insights into the health and expansion of the internet, covering aspects such as the connectivity of individual ASNs and the adoption of IPv6.
The report offers global statistics, with country-specific details accessible at the bottom. The underlying data for each country is downloadable as a CSV file. You are free to use this data as you please, but please remember to give credit wherever you may choose to publish it and/or your findings.
The report is updated weekly on Fridays, immediately after midnight UTC.
Active / inactive ASN's
This dataset provides information on the entire collection of 120,398 Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs). Of these, approximately 69% are classified as active.
In this context, an active ASN is defined as one that has at least one peer. Active ASNs are participating in internet routing, while inactive ones might be reserved, under development, or no longer operational.

Connectivity and Peering
The average number of peers per ASN reflects the typical level of interconnection between networks. A higher average indicates a more densely connected internet landscape.
Leaf ASNs, on the other hand, are networks positioned at the internet's edge, with only one peer. Their count provides insights into how internet traffic is distributed on the network's periphery. These single-peer connections often represent access points for end users or smaller networks.

IPv4/IPv6 Support
ASNs with both IPv4 and IPv6 support (dual stack), those solely utilizing IPv4, and those exclusively using IPv6. This provides insights into the adoption rates of IPv6.

Please note: About 1,684 ASN's has peers - but do not announce any IP prefixes.
Announced prefixes
Exploring the advertised IP address spaces by ASNs. Total unique announced prefixes, is the total number of distinct network prefixes advertised by ASNs.
